These Brown Dog motor mounts feature Ultra-Flex Rubber bushings designed to help dampen drive-line vibration. If this is your daily driver, you may find these bushings well worth the extra money. • Engine remains in stock position.
• Mounts bolt into the identical locations as the stock mounts.
  • The left (driver side) bolts directly to pylon (Wrangler YJ) or to frame-side bracket (Cherokee XJ & Comanche MJ).
  • The right (passenger side) bolts to a cradle which, in turn, bolts to pylon or frame-side bracket.
• Check cradle carefully for cracks, if in good condition, you may wish to reuse your existing cradle. However, many customers have removed the mount to replace it and then saw the cradle busted into a couple pieces. You may want to order the cradle (Brown Dog Part Number CR2569) with the motor mounts.
• Carefully inspect engine bracket (bolts to the engine block) for any excess wear, especially cracks. The original cast aluminum brackets found on many 4-cylinder Jeep of this era weren't designed to handle the strength of these high-performance motor mounts. If you need brackets, order the following kit.
  • KU2569-0 Upgrade Kit for 1997-2003 TJ
  • XU2569-0 Upgrade Kit for 1991-1996 2.5L YJ, MJ, or XJ. (Includes a the cradle on the passenger side on these vehicles.)
  • Sorry, brackets currently not available for 2.4L gas, 2.1L diesel, nor 2.8L V6 engines.
